I'm redecorating one of the flats in my building. What should be a simple clean and paint job (albeit a long overdue clean) is complicated by the previous tenant's apparent obsession with draft proofing. Everywhere you look their are half-centimetre strips of that sticky back white foam. Like, everywhere, along the skirting board, along the sides of a cupboard, round the door lock, all round the window, even where there's no joint. And on top of it, in a lot of places, sellotape.
She didn't seem like a crazy person when she lived here.
