Continuing the trend of fixing shit that should be binned... @MCamb was kind enough to donate a lovely Concord in 531 to me.
I picked it up this morning and went down to work on it.
I got the BB out real easy. I heated the spindle with my TIG torch which loosened everything enough that I could undo it with some vice grips.
The seat post was another story. This is the first seat post I have lost to.
I am not allowed to use chemicals at work so in the end I gave up and replaced the tube.
We will see if it holds up or not.
New tube is joint to old tube with a sleeve plug. Like I do my forks. I think it will work.
Geometry is pleasing at 73/74 and hopefully adding track ends won't fuck that up too much.
The idea is to make a HDIJ tribute beater fixie.
I'll leave the frame ratty. Give it pink cantis and pink dynamo and black everything else. Uhh and the forks I made for the GT.
I see you've just chopped the stays to remove the dropouts rather than try to debraze anything, are your new ends large enough to span the gap or are you going to have to 'pull' things in a bit?
