I just rode 40km on this with 100mm stem.
But that would mean it won't handle as nice with the shorter reach handlebar surely?

Well frame is designed for 120-130mm stem and compact road bars so I reckon 110-120mm stem and 460mm Cowchippers will be fine

compact road bars
As in between 70-80mm reach? so effectively 190-200mm reach.
With cowchipper that work out 178-188 reach.

Soooo.... I am going down to VAZ as soon as my headphones have fully charged.
I am going to let myself be open to colours that presents themselves down there (I can't decide).I am leaning towards a brownish metallic. I have had one before and that looked wicked. Dirty Bronze.
Bars have arrived and they look dope.
Also I have decided to go for Shimano hydro instead of the klampers. They are to klunky for my ss dropout design so I'll save them for something else...

This thread is great. Cowchippers are my favorite bar due to reach/drop/flare combo. Searching for another pair at the moment. Where did you get yours from please Hulsroy?

Thanks man.
I bought them at The Bike Monger. There is a sale on Cowchippers and Cowbells.

I am thinking about getting cowbells for my road bike and slamming the stem

I went for something slightly more subtle than I first envisioned.
I think it will age well and I can run both black and silver components and both black and gumwall tyres...
And it will make brass headbadge and brass bits pop...Sort of like this Roberts. Gold sparkly with quite a lot of black mixed in.

Continuing the trend of fixing shit that should be binned... @MCamb was kind enough to donate a lovely Concord in 531 to me.
I picked it up this morning and went down to work on it.
I got the BB out real easy. I heated the spindle with my TIG torch which loosened everything enough that I could undo it with some vice grips. The seat post was another story. This is the first seat post I have lost to.
I am not allowed to use chemicals at work so in the end I gave up and replaced the tube.
We will see if it holds up or not.
New tube is joint to old tube with a sleeve plug. Like I do my forks. I think it will work.Geometry is pleasing at 73/74 and hopefully adding track ends won't fuck that up too much.
The idea is to make a HDIJ tribute beater fixie.
I'll leave the frame ratty. Give it pink cantis and pink dynamo and black everything else. Uhh and the forks I made for the GT.

Thanks M!
I forgot to mention that I have used cheap plain guage tubing with internal 26.8 diameter. That means I can use my Zoom seat post. Oh yeah! -

That escalated quickly. Awesome work as always.
I think the 100mm looks better than the first one. Especially with the sloping top tube.
