• Cheers - that Enigma is a cracker, the beefier tubes look great with that paint - can you not fit any guards on there at all? I'd be tempted to knock up something slightly more economical with guards & keep that as is,

There's 25c GP Classics on there just now - might get away with raceguards or similar with 23c tyres but tbh I haven't ever measured it up, the fork has eyelets but not the frame. Been toying with the idea of swapping the fork for a full-carbon job as it's the only thing on it i'm not 100% happy with (other than the 3 foot steerer...) reckon it would suit an Enve or Columbus with the straight blades.

  • yeah, I've been fettling some SKS clip on things to fit but they always rattle and rub after a few miles... I really want to be able to get some proper guards on it like PDW metal fenders but there isn't enough clearance at the back with 25c on wide rims... shame really

I've been thinking of changing the forks for some straight Easton EC90...
If I had room for guards I was thinking of putting some steel forks on it with internal dynamo routing, a lamp and some low-rider pannier racks

    Cheers,
    Matt

  • Actually suits those mudguards - but yeah, the clip on ones are a bit of a pain, even most sks efforts disintegrate after a couple of winters' abuse.

Forgot the EC90 (SL?) came straight too, the curved one has quite a nice profile to it mind - the steerer on the Moda is 1 1/8 straight & the nicer carbon forks are slowly disappearing...

    Cheers!
