You don't have to be but they're definitely in the majority. Supreme arrogance and willing to shit all over people are common traits amongst many successful entrepreneurs.
Even if someone seems reasonable they'll probably eventually out themselves as a massive twat at some point.

Unusual self-confidence is a requirement. Some people have that while also being calm and reasonable - assertive in the good sense - but that seems to be harder than being self-confident and an asshole of immense diameter. Maybe it's just that the Elon Musks of the world are always so much more visible than the Warren Buffetts.
