11.5 kg is hefty. My £800 quid Vitus weights 9.5 for an XL, no upgrades done. Could easily go down 1kg with Chinese wheels and finishing kit

I guess calling my Croix de Fer a CX bike is a bit misleading, though I use it for all kinds of off road stuff. I do use it for more or less everything as it's bombproof, & the weight includes a dynamo hub/lights etc.

That is pretty good going. My road bike weighs around that, & it feels much more lively than my CX bike which sits around 11.5kg.
