That is pretty good going. My road bike weighs around that, & it feels much more lively than my CX bike which sits around 11.5kg.

Well I think tire size and geo matters just as much as plain weight in the "lively feeling".
And speaking of prices, pedals might not be cheap, but at least those are not required to be changed after 3-4k miles like the cassette does. Plus I bought 'em used. -
11.5 kg is hefty. My £800 quid Vitus weights 9.5 for an XL, no upgrades done. Could easily go down 1kg with Chinese wheels and finishing kit
