I'm probably going to give it a go next time I change cables. Is there enough housing for fully covered cables?
Yup. I got the mountain pro as I was worried the road one wouldn't have enough housing, and there was more than enough for full runs. Of course that means mtb cables, but they sit OK in the Sram brake levers.
