It was 14eur from their webshop so the closest I can get to that would be good. I'll suck up the postage costs given it was my ordering error.

Any recommendations for office coffee machines? We have a Nespresso machine at the minute but have been given the nod to research a better alternative. I like pour over/filter style coffee usually if that helps.

Anyone got any coffee reccos for Vienna?
-
• #15712
Have you been before? Only if not then maybe it'd be fun for you to check some of their classic 'grand' coffee houses. Café Central is probably the one to do here. See also Café Griensteidl and Café Eiles. They're like gothic churches worshipping pastries.
Just figure you can get your third wave coffee anywhere so when in Rome/Vienna etc...

Love that place. Pfeiffers and tiny sandwiches and coffees and pastries and strudles and schnitzel and etc.

For pour over/filter type, I'd say the Aeropress is a cheap and easy solution. For larger volumes, a Technivorm will do you >1l at a time.
For espresso-based drinks, our office has a Gaggia Classic. Which is great and can be had for £150 2nd hand, but requires a serious maintenance schedule when used heavily (~50 shots/day or more).
It's obviously important not to forget the coffee itself! Grind fresh if at all possible. If not, then get the roaster to grind it for your brew method. Depending on the size of the company, you can set up a weekly/two-weekly delivery so you've always got fresh coffee on hand.

Called into their London Bridge branch this morning. Impressive set up. Coffee was nothing special though.

Anyone using an EK43 with coffee burrs - where about on the adjustment are you grinding for pour over? The reason I ask is that ever since I had the machine, filter grinding starts at approx 2 o’clock on the dial for an 18g 1 cup brew (no.2 on my scale) and ends at 2.5 for a 36g 2 cup. Cafetière brewing is at 5.5, or about 11 o’clock on the dial, leaving about 270deg of redundant adjustment and a frustratingly small scale of adjustment for filter grinding. I’ve seen people grinding espresso nowhere near zero and french press towards the end of the scale. Are my burrs damaged? Would planar alignment make such a big difference? I’ve probably only put about 600kg through the machine.
Any help appreciated, @matisse could you shed any light? Cheers. -

I might buy this on the packaging alone

Don't have an answer to your question but one of these dials might help you make micro adjustments on the EK if you feel you don't have much wiggle room

Nice one thank you. I’ve bought replacement burrs after talking to the Mahlkonig distributors, if that doesn’t do the trick then at least I’ve got a spare set. I’m not sure the current ones didn’t get mashed into each other at some point.

Do it for the Coffee too, it's intended for Espresso but 250g gives little dial in play, so I tried v60 and got huge Whisky flavours. Aeropress less so so stuck with v60. I split 400ml and drink half at brekkie, the flask later tastes even better as the brew has cooled a bit.
It's good, not thermos levels, but it keeps my coffee still almost the same temp as it comes out of the cafetiere when I put it in my bag and forget to drink it until I get to work.
