  • Which BRM is. Obviously.

    Hairy that is.

    Not manly.

  • Any fule kno that manliness is proportional to density of pelt.

  • Def manly

  • this is excellent to see. Can’t wait to see this finished.

  • Cheers dude. Slow progress, but we are getting there. I’ll be doing some of the easy win aesthetics over the next month so it looks as good as it can for my dad getting here.

  • Hairist swine, the lot of yez!

  • I reckon I'd win in a hair off between me and @BRM

  • this looks too fucking rad

  • CSB time, when I picked up the white car from Skuzzle and drove it to Llandow for it's first trackday, I very quickly discovered that the hardtop rubbed on the rollcage, which then was the only sound I could hear the whole way down the M4.

Even if you're only racing this car, and you're always going to have a helmet on, please make sure there's no rub otherwise the squeaking will drive you fucking mad.

  • You should see some of the gaps between the hardtop and the body. The wind noise will probably drive me insane.

  • I’ll be driving to the circuits for each race. You get two points for it. I need all the points I can get to win a pot.

  • Don’t be daft, stretch you out to BRM size and you’d be sparsely covered at best.

  • Lovely work on the car Richie, would love to see more pics.

  • I’m returning/ spraying some steel wheels. Should I tape off the valve or just remove it completely? I assume a tyre place can fit new ones?

  • Let's just say when I visit a Hammam, everyone feels jelly of my virility.

  • You should be making sure they fit a new one.

  • Been offered one front and two rear BBS LM’s, would need to buy a single front and get the lot refurbished. Need to work out what the total cost would be. These are 9” front and 11” rear.

  • They should always cut the old one off and fit a new one as @BRM says

  • Kerbed a wheel on the Volvo last week.

First time I've kerbed a wheel since bouncing over the right hander of Adenauer Forst at the ring.

    Still simmering about it now.

Does anyone do discounts for multiple sets of wheels? I want to get the ATS done too and if I can save some money that would help.

  • I used Exel wheels to get them refurbed last time, it's a one man operation I think and that man is Chris - give him a shout, he's a nice chap.

  • Sweet 60s sabb and a mini caravan made from half of the same car on George Clarke s amazing spaces on c4

  • Looks great with the hardtop on it Richie.

Are you aiming to be on the grid with it for the start of the season?

  • not this year.

I want to win a trophy. given my modest budget, my novice status and my slight volumetric issues, i have worked out that my best (only) chance is the novice trophy. for that, you need to start the season on less than 3 signatures on your licence (ie - 3 races finished without dying).

the aim is to get the car finished as quick as possible, then do as many track days as we need to shake the car down and hone my chops, then start a new season with HRS. it is a road-going championship, so you can get 2 points per race if you drive to/from the circuit.

there is only ever 2-3 novices per season (max) and most only do 2-3 races. I reckon i can do four, and drive the car (from the nearest service station, where i reverse it off the trailer) to the track and back.

I am going to do a few races in the morgan this year, as well, but might need to accidentally not get my licence stamped.

    what could possibly go wrong?
