Incidentally this is why I hate running (despite doing a lot of it). It's all fitness and genetics, not gear. I suck at running - I trained for 3 or 4 days a week for months on end for a marathon and I was still slower than fat people who did no training. Now that is a soul-crushing experience. I'm thankful that in cycling I can always blame my shoddy equipment when I'm last up the hill
