Such pleasure to be had from this.
That said, I once had a guy on a brompton with wide bars and a real low front end absolutely smashing it behind me and I tanked it down New Kings Road trying to drop him but couldn't. As I turned off in Putney he waved and shouted "thanks for the pull!"

Sort of agree. Nice things have always been expensive. I've always been more content having decent stuff, for a decent price and still rinsing past all the try hards on the shiny stuff.
This has worked for cycling, not so much for windsurfing. Those plumbers were always out in the best conditions, the flexible working pricks.
