Well I already own both and while it might be good for drying some things I'd rather not wait 8 to 10 hours to dry a load or sacrifice a whole room for it. Heat pump dryers are pretty much dehumidifiers with a drum anyway.

That's good news, you're in a much better place in that case.
The thing about roofed bike holdy thingies is that they will probably need a concrete floor to stand on. Our freeholder tried to install a buggy shelter a few months back and that was due to set us back upwards of £40k. A metal shell one would not require that - may save you a bit of cash.

We hang ours in the lounge (the warmer room) overnight and have enough clothes that it's not an issue if it's not dry immediately. I'd rather spend the dryer money (initial outlay and big electricity costs) on extra clothes.

40k? Out. I'd do it myself. How much is a bag of cement over here?
-
• #27131
Same. Better for environment too. For half the year it’s warm enough to have the windows open and they dry in no time.

Yeah, deffo true, I just don't like pushing the "green" thing, people might think I'm some kind of hippy..

Tumble dryers are the norm in Aus 🤯
-
• #27134
This isn't a tumble dryer...

• #27135
We don't have one...

Any recommendations for boiler repair E7, looks like the pressure relief valve or expansion vessel has a leak.

This bloke is good when I've used him

We're in E7 too (where abouts are you?) and we have used Will I Am plumbing (https://www.will-i-am-pnh.co.uk) for three different jobs, one big and two minor, all have which have been done really well.

Cheers for the rapid response.

Nice one. We're at the top of Odessa road (Cann Hall). Moved here just over a year ago, you?

The guy from full-flame is a total boiler geek. Highly recommended.
-
• #27142
Is Full Flame @sacredhart? Or is he the guy that he recommends?
-
• #27143
Not me. He is the best in London, only does Vaillant. Trustworthy, reliable, reasonable prices.

Villages/towns off the m3 corridor perhaps? Alton or Basingstoke/Kingsclere way?
An acre plot anywhere in the South is going to be pricey...
-
• #27145
Ah, you recommended him I think, and I spoke to him but we didn't have a Vaillant then.
Turned out our old boiler was so fucked we got a Vaillant anyway.
-
• #27146
Anything around Kingsclere will pricey - too close to Newbury and the M4 corridor.

Why?

Pulborough isn't a bad choice. The surrounding area is really lovely. The South Downs are stunning in summer and on a hot day still probably the most pleasant place I've ever been.
Train connections aren't all that, but it does go to Victoria iirc... I remember getting to the places like Brighton used to be a mission.
No idea what it is like now, but in the late 90s there wasn't a great deal to do round there other than recreation drugs.
Is there any reason you're looking for so many bedrooms? Or is that just what places with the land you want have? Have you considered buying some land and building your own house / garage with a flat on top?

I don’t actually want a million bedrooms, but it’s assumed that if you want a large plot with outbuildings that you’d have a requirement for them I think. Childless people are underserved here.
Yes, don't own one.
Use a clothes rack and if your place is damp add a dehumidifier.
