Kristof just posted on facebook that he's just done a 28-hour double Everesting.
WTF -
• #428
That's nothing. I rode down George St this morning and added 1.2km to my commute this morning.
-
• #429
Still not ready for the New Oxford Street challenge?
-
• #430
I rode to greggs this morning. 10m extra of elevation.

U mad bro? Without supplemental oxygen?! At this time of year?!
-
• #432
How many 7Days did he get through though? That is the real test of an ultra racer.

I'm working from home so not gone out of the house yet but will go and pick my daughter up from nursery later. It's almost 1km each way, but so much harder than it sounds as I will be pulling a trailer and there is big col on the route - a railway bridge.

Do you have a link for this?

Legs really start to burn by the time I pass the Sheffield stands on the left.
If you meant Kristof's everesting, I saw it on facebook - search for his name and it should come up.

I think emails just take a long time to get here.
Anna just got back to me - apparently a few of us missed the payment and we’ve just got to pay by this weekend.

It was probably blocked for suspicious content. The Great Firewall of Australia doesn't want you reading anything mucky and forrun.

Seems like requirements on reflective straps, vest etc have ramped up a little.
What do people use? I recall someone said they had something from PBP.
Anyone got a pic?
Does anyone modify their clothing at all? -
• #439
What do people use?
Depends what the rules say.
I've not looked at the updated requirements yet. Is there more than last year? -
• #440
I’m not the best person to answer.
But also I understood France to be one of the stricter places. Given we are riding all the way across seemed important to get right. -
• #441
France has some hi-viz requirement. TCR did too last year. What do the TCR rules say?
-
• #442
Also I’ll probably go beyond the requirement as I’ll feel better knowing that/ responsibility to family.
-
• #443
Italy also has legal requirement for reflective gilet at night.
In France you have to wear one but it does mean you can be beaten up by riot police.Essentially the rules now say you have to have reflective tape in various places like your cranks, two sets of lights and a rear reflector. Basically you have to have what I had last time. There's nothing too onerous.

The PBP one is fine but a bit bulky and warm. If I hadn't done PBP I wouldn't wear one, especially in France what people might ask about it.
Last time I used a more minimalist Sportful one.

He did it in 2017 -
• #446
Yes, second time
-
• #447
You mean he did it a second time? Because that photo on facebook is from his 2017 one.
-
• #448
Oh, that's a bit rubbish! I assumed it was like this week
Edit,
This is the link, it says yesterday 3am on it, definitely not a new ride? -
• #449
No, I recognize the photo. And it's the exact same elevation as the 2017 one (17.839m)

Bonzer! I've just been lent a Trek with 105 for the time I'm in Melbourne by a family friend. It's gonna have to be cycling in civvies, my 6 dollar K-mart helmet and flats for the moment but I'm trying to organise a care package with a few bits and bobs.
Is your email in their system up to date? Been checking your spam folder? Do you need a PC technician to turn your machine off and on again :P
