I got one a year ago and it's been great. No issues whatsoever. Easy buying experience with options to makes some changes from the stock setup. Got it in 56 and it's now my only bike for all seasons. Highly recommended.

How much was the frameset?
-
• #7606
Frameset was $490 with additional $80 for the custom paint job. Getting the paintjob was pretty easy, I sent them the Pantone codes and did a mock-up in paint of what I was after. They then sent some proper design images of how it would look before they got started which was good.

What was shipping time like? How much was customs or did the offer to mark package as sample with a low value $100 or similar?
-
• #7608
Got back this email from them:
Thanks for your inquiry.
For the CFR505 gravel bike frameset, the sample order price details as bellow:
490USD for frame,fork,seatpost and clamp
12USD for headset
26USD for F&R axles
85USD for the shipping cost via EMS express.
Re. the BB,we just have BB86 or BB386 to offer, can you accept it?
Re. the painting job,any colors we can do ,some pictures for reference. Any colors we can do,usually we paint the frame accordance with the pantone color code. -

Cool that's pretty much the same email that I got when I ordered a Chinese frame 5 or so years ago. But from memory it took quite a while to arrive. 8 weeks or so.
What was your deliver time like? -
• #7610
Didn't order anything yet. I'll have a think first
-
• #7612
Shipping time was less that two weeks from when they packaged up and sent me details. Total time from when I placed order to getting to me was 8-9 weeks. It took this long because I requested BSA bottom bracket and additional bottle cage mount on underside.
Didn't pay customs on it, they marked it as value of $100.

But can they do fadez?
-
• #7614
Thanks, this pretty much mirrors my experience of ordering. There was some sort of production delay but the transit time was actually only about 2 weeks and it was marked at 100 dollars too.

I think they did the sick fadez on the orange/yellow bike last page
-
• #7616
Win. Thank you for telling me that
-
• #7617
It is a pretty nice fade from the previous page. Almost tempted too :)

I'm a big fan of the finish and styling on this Carbonda

That yellow and orange fade job a few pages ago was done by the Chinese supplier?
-
• #7621
yes

I don't understand bottom bracket compatibility but if i got one of the CFR505 frames what would i need to run a full 105 group set on it?
-
• #7624
Thanks Amey, I presume that's to fit the BB86 mentioned above?
I know you rate this bike do you know what their road bikes are like?
-
• #7625
no idea about the road bikes, I had FM066 at one point and love it, if they made a high stack version of that in disc I'd have got that instead of my canyon.
240g. My alloy 3t ergosum weight about the same, paid 20 quid and hit the deck several times with no consequences. Got another set of 3t carbon bars for 5 times the price that I'm too afraid to ride after a bad crash
