Oh shit. I was half joking... Really tempted.
Anyone have thoughts on etap? I haven't used etap or di2. Generally prefer shimano groupsets but ease of wireless installation is appealing. -

That is a good deal isn't it. I'm only stopping myself as I don't think it's wifli...
Edit: which is 1249 EUR. Hmmm

Etap is awesome, will be buying a second set to replace Duraace di2 soon I think.
-
• #6906
I'll give you £10 for your Di2
-
• #6907
Well that's me sold then
-
• #6908
But also dibs di2 for cheapz
-
• #6909
eTap is well shit. It's a slow, noisy chocolate teapot for cycling fashionistas and their stupid gravé bikes.

Sold!

cycling fashionistas
Certainly not me...
Slow and noisy? Can you elaborate further?

ETap is brilliant. Had it nearly three years now, never had any problems with it in over 5000 miles, and the shifting is so intuitive, especially over Di2.
I’ve also used it to drop @Señor_Bear on Cudhams Lane.

^ Classic postrationalisation of a terrible mistake so as not to disappear into a world of regret and self-loathing
-
• #6914
I think I'm already convinced really.
Would anyone like to buy a full DA9000 groupset to help me fund etap?
-
• #6915
@Señor_Bear has a point though, Di2 is crisper in its shifting.
-
• #6916
I just hope they release a new Force 1 soon so I can feed on the leftovers of the buyers
-
• #6917
I just came in here to axs about this.
-
• #6918
crisper shifting is obvs something id prefer but then I wont have anything to compare etap to. ignorance is bliss etc
I'd like to stick with shimano but the di2 installation is just very off putting. all the wires and junction boxes seem like a massive pain in the hole.No wires but slightly less crisp shifting. I feel i could live wth that.

They all work much better than anyone needs.
-
• #6921
Yeah. Totally. This is the sensible thing that I need to hear to stop me spending £1100 :(
-
• #6922
Spend away, just don't worry about what on. I'd go etap, but only because I fix bikes and there's fuck all to do with it.
-
• #6923
I mean, I'd never actually go etap because I fix bikes so am skint and build bikes out of stuff buyers throw away.
-
• #6924
Sames. virtually never buy bike parts new, big proponent of the second hand market.
Its a fuck tonne of money. But part justifying to my self with the reasoning that it would be entirely funded by the sale of other bike parts. -

With electronic shifting I wonder about the tactile feel of actually using the shifters. Like the feel of the clicks. I'm so used to the feel of mechanical it might take a bit of getting used to?
Does new etap mean old etap will go cheap? Send me links to much cheap 11 speed etap please
