I won't want anything knobby like the GK SK, but wide yes. NCT had more gravel than this probably will, though possibly not as chunky, and the 28 gp4000s were fine, but wider would've sure been comfier. And the roads in the Balkans are not smooth. 35's might be nice.

4000s. No they were fine. 32c wide on my heds
I'd consider wider for tcr 7
-
• #404
So a 32mm gp5000 would come up 35mm on HED. Should be enough.
-
• #405
I thought the GP5000s ran truer to claimed size, unlike GP4000s so be careful thinking you're going to get that out of them.

• #406
good info. thanks

GP4000II in 28mm are a fraction wider than GP5000 32mm on Pacenti Forza rims. (We're talking points of mm)

Anna just posted on Facebook group that the V1 manual should be out at the end of April.
-
• #409
Damn! Hoped it would have been out sooner. Going to try and plan the route as I can and amend it after that.
-
• #410
I'm going to look at it for 3hrs one night making lots of changes that end up all being reverted, then give up and let the Garmin ride me around in circles for a week until I remember that I can just follow whoever's winning on the tracker.
-
• #411
What if you are winning?
-
• #412
Or what if Bjorn is winning...?
-
• #413
Don't worry, I will make sure I am never in the lead.
I would love for Birdman to win this year's race.
-
• #414
Unlike him, I want be proceeding over silly gravel tracks unless it's parcours.

-
• #421

You mean like
"Dear TCRNo7 rider,
Thank you for signing the rider agreement (the first stage of accepting your place on TCRNo7).
From the 19th January 2019 the second stage will be available to you in your profile page at registration.transcontinental.cc. You can complete the form (a few more personal details including your nominated next of kin details) and make the first non-refundable deposit payment (£150) between 19th and the 27th January 2019 to secure your place on the race.
We have provided ample time and warning so please do not miss these dates, late payments will not be accepted."
You muppet. You're a vet and a volunteer so I reckon they'll just mock you a bit and you'll be fine.

Any reply, or is Anna keeping you in suspense for a few days...?
-
• #425
An email like that would’ve been nice :).
@frank9755 no reply yet, I guess the team is busy with TPR.
I'm waiting to see what cp4 holds before deciding. But the 80km looks pretty innocuous from what I've seen on videos etc. So I'm minded to use fast road tyres, probably 28s.
However, I've had to buy a new tyre both in 2016 and in indypac, so I am seriously thinking about taking a spare.
if cp4 is a rough say as the Sarajevo cp last year I might take chunkier /gravel tyres.
@skinny, what did you use last year, looked like gp4000, no? Did you wish you'd taken something chunkier?
