Any knowledge of this device? I already have a big chunky garmin that I use for not getting lost, but it doesn't do power readings. Would this be a cheap way of getting the necessary data?
I like the idea of having a screen separate to my map anyway

I've got a Joule GPS which I use on my track bike in Switzerland, which I believe is essentially the same as that model but with a GPS receiver. The UI is awful, but it works. Difficult to go wrong at that price.

I looked into Joules ages ago but then they were like 200 quid. As danstuff says, fuck it, buy it for £30. I still have a bunch of the LYC little yellow computers. :)

Ta, I'll give it a go
The UI is awful
I suspect it would be set on one screen all the time, so as long as I can plug it in and upload data, it'll do me :-)

Not buying another garmin is also a win

• #9132
There is that. I think I'm in one of those abusive relationships with Garmin.

You can. You'll need the Power Agent software, but that can do auto uploads to Strava, TrainingPeaks and many other sites. Again, it's a bit clunky but it works.

Sounds ideally suited to me then

Or WKO3 if you have that?
That begs the question - does WKO4 import from these old devices, since they've retired the uploader app thingiebob? DeviceAgent

No, Garmin only. You'd have to upload the data from the Joule head unit using PowerAgent, export it in pwx or gpx format, and then upload the pwx or gpx file to WKO4. There's no direct access to the Joule data log files when it's plugged into a PC.

So another reason to stay on WKO3. I'm still waiting for someone to show me something 'cool' that makes me think WKO4 is worth it.

So looks like the Stages power meter might be best for me. Does anyone have the Ultegra one? Do you rate it? Anything to be aware of?
-
• #9141
4iiii is cheaper
-
• #9142
And better?
-
• #9143
They are broadly the same and with Stages whether it's 105 or Ultegra I presume it's just extra money for the crank arm, the PM is the same.

• #9144
Ok, thank you

• #9145
I've got an ultegra 6800 for sale! 4iiii that is

Which generation stages is it?
I have a 170mm Duraace 9000 crankset missing the non drive side arm, which would be a match... -

It's only a souvenir not the real thing
You now have more PMs than me :)
