resist and just buy some nice alloy bars.
I had genuine carbon s-works bars that cracked after I had an embarrassing couldnt-get-unclipped-in-time-while-slowly-rolling-to-a-stop.
Very slow speed, bars hit the ground with no real load on them. Admittedly its still a crash and maybe there was more force involved than I realise but it diminished by trust in carbon bars, genuine or chinese. If the real McCoy cracked seemingly easily then I'd guess the fakes wont be so strong either.
Bought second hand alloy ritchey evo curves and still ride them today. -
I've bought a similar set of cheap crabon bars a couple years back, seemed fine and used them for a bit before sliding out in a corner. No visible damage to the bars nor me or any other part of the bike, but I binned them because I didn't trust them afterwards and realised I had no reason to do so before. Bought a set of alloy equivalents and never looked back.
Fake sl70 - terrible idea, really terrible idea or totally reasonable idea?
