I've ordered one of these . Is the idea that rear lights and plate are sufficiently visible that you can get away without a light board?

Edit - although I've just remembered that with nothing plugged into the tow bar electrics, and a rack fitted, the car won't let you reverse... could be an issue.

I discovered this when attempting to drive to Halfords to get a 7 pin -> 13 pin adaptor, with the tow hitch mounted bike rack already on the back of the car. And then I absentmindedly drove into a cul-de-sac.

I think that's the idea, it wasn't the case for me, the lights were visible but not the plate. I wasn't too bothered tbh, but it sounds like if you can't reverse, that's a non starter.

I might just get a trailer board - they aren't expensive. Driving to Scotland with it in May so want to be reasonably legit.

And the reversing sensor thing...
