Well I already own both and while it might be good for drying some things I'd rather not wait 8 to 10 hours to dry a load or sacrifice a whole room for it. Heat pump dryers are pretty much dehumidifiers with a drum anyway.
We hang ours in the lounge (the warmer room) overnight and have enough clothes that it's not an issue if it's not dry immediately. I'd rather spend the dryer money (initial outlay and big electricity costs) on extra clothes.
Yes, don't own one.
Use a clothes rack and if your place is damp add a dehumidifier.
