A significant part of Scots support for the EU has always been fuelled by anti-English or anti-Westminster sentiment. There's a lot of irony to savour in this particular conflict between Scottish and Irish nationalism, but it could get very nasty very quickly in the aftermath of a no-deal Brexit. Kippers will blame the EU for all the problems, ScotsNats will blame the English. People are worried about the Irish border right now...

Ha. Put it this way, if a Scotland free of Westminster seemed like an attractive option a while back then now...
