I saw him backstage after a gig last year and he was looking very slim - didn't think for a second he might be ill, though. Terribly sad, such a funny guy.
edit - it was a Kathryn Williams gig my mate was doing the photography for - he's just sent me a really nice photo of Jeremy and Kathryn.
