  • I actually like the Seamaster. Wasn't aware they were notably slim. I like it even more now. My Seiko samurai is turning out to be too bulky and every other diver I look at is too tall.
I haven't seen one in the flesh (ceramic?) But the new black Seamaster looks pretty tasty.

  • The new one is a bit taller but still slimmer than virtually everything else , and is also circa 42 mm rather than the prev one at 41mm . New one is also now £3600 as opposed to £2920 . But also has the new master co-axial and is awesome in the flesh.
Having said that I have two of the last of of the prev brand new ( a blue and a black ) and they are still brilliant and I am doing them at a bit off list for forum members @ £2750. Fucking bargain with a 5 year warranty as well . If I didn’t already have an even older one I would be buying one. Or having said all that buy my old one for £1800 and I will buy a new one !!

  • My 2p. Forget about the sea and diving, think about outside our Earth.

  • Hmm, do you have pics of the black, previous gen one?

Speedmaster is still on want list but Seamaster much more practical for my everyday watch.

  • Will send pics when back at work , off for a couple of days .

  • New 300M looks better than the old one IMO (hands, dial, bracelet all much nicer) but it didn’t seem slim to me at all. A bit slimmer than a BB though for sure.

  • Still slimmer than most but not thin as the version it replaces.

  • Is 13.7mm accurate for the thickness? Because that’s only 1mm less than a Black Bay. I always thought of it as a fairly modest sized watch but I tried on a two tone one (don’t ask) and it was thicker than I expected.

Modern Rolex Sub and the Squale 1521 are 13mm. SKX007 is 13.25mm. So I wouldn’t call the current 300M slim, particularly, if it is 13.7.

  • The BB58 is 11.9mm

  • The thinner the better really. I like my Seiko samurai but it's too bulky when being worn.

Love the look of watches like the Halios Seaforth... That's 12mm but it's not readily available.

Will look into squale. Any other suggestions?

  • Try the old one on . It wears really slim.

  • Have a look at Sinn. The 556 is 11mm.

  • One of the reasons I like my Hydronaut so much is how slim it is. Fits under a shirt much better than my Black Bay.

  • I had one of those for a bit, really nice .

  • Hydronaut

That looks good. Sort of a mashup between a Seiko and Omega.

    If we're doing cuff shots...

I've found my Oyster bracelet has weirdly slimmed down my skx013. Possibly the extra weight on the lugs? In order of most to least awkward with a dress shirt; OG rubber -> Perlon -> Oyster.

To be fair this is a casual shirt, so not a great representation, and there are still some that I struggle a bit with. I do still wonder if it's possible to have the caseback machined down.

  • Another suggestion while we’re talking thickness (or thinness). I don’t know what your budget is, but the Bell & Ross BR V2 range wear really slim. 41mm across and just under 12mm thick, but that includes the heavily domed crystal so they wear quite a bit slimmer. Case + bezel is 9-10mm. Really nice shape IMO and they have several nice dial / colour variations.

    Not my pictures:

  • Bring on Summer when you don't have to hide the watch under long sleeves any more.

  • Eterna make some really nice thin watches. My Eterna Legacy 1948 is 9.5mm according to my vernier caliper.

  • This is a nice thin watch - Bering Titanium. Not overly expensive either.

  • Helson have 15% off for the next two weeks.

Brass Shark diver is now £235.

  • You reminded me about the B&R Officer... Missed that opportunity... Seems they've discontinued them. Sad really. Silver starburst face was lush.

  • Yeah that is a nice one, they don’t do a chrono without a bezel anymore, plus they all have screw down pushers now (the saleswoman in the B&R boutique said that’s due to people damaging them and complaining). They do seem to change up the variants on a regular basis. The V2-92 steel vintage and the V2-93 GMT are really nice, I’d wear either.

  • Pics or it didn't happen.
