Do we all need to get the same rims for the discount?
Don't think so. Hope not. I suspect few if any other people will be wanting tubular rims...
-
• #7553
You don't, I did one of the last LB group buys and no two pairs were the same
-
• #7554
Muchas gracias again for that, my new hoops are ace.
-
• #7555
Probably not, though this will depend on the seller preference for discount as @danstuff said, if you're instrested please PM me and we will discuss this in more detail.
-
• #7556
Ah no worries!
Actually tempted to get another pair myself from the order that's going in this week...

Is there an approx 50mm deep LB rim that will work with disk brakes (rear) or am I better to get something that is asymmetric?
-
• #7558
From memory yes, they do each of them as disc ready - think they're all symmetrical for road but the MTB ones might not be.
-
• #7559
*oh hai*
-
• #7560
am I better to get something that is asymmetric?
Dick break rears have less dish than normal road rears, asymmetric rims are not necessary. Deep rims inherently have a better spoke bracing angle than old school shallow ones, again mitigating the problem tackled by asymmetric rims.

What’s the lightest disc brake clincher rim LB do?
-
• #7562
Possibly this at 410g, still 36mm deep..

Possibly this at 410g
Or this at 380±15g

Does anyone have a reference on Aliexpress of a reasonably priced (or at least more reasonably priced than what I came across elsewhere) of a tool to install 1" headset crown race (the tube with the surface on top for hammering)?
-
• #7566
cannot rate them highly enough, ultimate wheels, with SON dynamo the wheelset came in at 1100g
-
• #7567
a PVC pipe
-
• #7568
Screwdriver and a hammer
-
• #7569
already using this method but it would be much better with the proper tool. Tried my local hardware store but no pipe were available with the convenient one bit I will try other ones

try a vacum hoover extension

Just put some Toseek forks on my mtb. They seem fine to me (although I've not ridden them yet)
Cannot find a single person with an opinion on them (who has actually tested them). anywhere. Anyone ridden them?
-
• #7573
Not Aliexpress but I got the Superstar Component tools in one of their many offers/discounts. Less than £20, and a wide range of mandrels which cover pretty much every crown race size you could ever meet.
-
• #7574
LB have just dropped all there prices, good on em! New facilities bringing costs down.

I have the 26" version on my cross-check. It adjusts the geo a bit so hard to do a like for like comparison but it seems fine.
Do we all need to get the same rims for the discount?
I'm potentially after some 50-60mm deep clincher rims to build up. Just trying to work out whether after shipping + tax it's easier just to buy something pre-built.
