Very greasy out this morning. Traffic galore on Jamaica Road and London Bridge, not sure of the cause. Someone (not sure whether a cyclist, ped or motorcyclist laid out North of Bank, hope they were OK. Saw a pedestrian go onto their arse just outside Bermondsey Station.

Waited for the sun to pop up then took the CX bike, rode around a few parks before making my way to work. Crunchy grass, frozen mud, a few cx drills, bluebird skies, chatty geese & excited daaaags. Gert Lush.

Was the same last night, only thing i noticed was that Rotherhithe Tunnel was closed but i didnt realise it took that much traffic?

Didn’t fancy Surrey lanes at -4 degrees so took the car.
Didn’t see a single cyclist

I stepped out in my cleats this morning and immediately slipped. Turned round, got changed, jumped on the train. It hurt but less than another clavicle error.

Was in danger of being on time for work today. Fortunately, the lock to my bikehangar was frozen shut so I had to turn around and head back home to get a thermos full of hot water.
I leant once, but I think I got away with it.

Wasn't too bad from SE to Central this morning. Some icy patches but no black ice, the roads looked dry. And still so many other cyclists about...

Had ice in my water bottle this morning, in less than four miles of commuting!

Cold. Hr through the roof. Still had fun.

Surprisingly non-icy on the road considering Metoffice said it was -3°.

Took the gravel route via Richmond Park and Wimbledon Common. Was Glorious. Frozen gravel is grippier than normal gravel. Much lean.

Usually I avoid the Avon river path in Bristol from November to April as it's a boggy mess, but I took a gamble that it was frozen solid this morning - it nearly all was, even rolled over some frozen puddles without them cracking! Bit bumpy though.

Got taken out by some fat MAMIL while stationary at the zebra crossing just before Vauxhall Bridge north-bound.
He ploughed into my rear wheel on my right hand side and then claimed he had been overtaking me... clearly hadn't taken the time to recognise I was stopped because peds were crossing.Hole torn in the knee of my bib tights. Need to get the sewing kit out tonight :(

Walked to tram, roads clear & ice free. Pavements lethal though so I walked in the road as is my right, 'cos I pay my taxes etc etc.

Roads of camden nice and gritted. No worries getting down to Euston for 7am. The waning crescent moon in the centre of Jupiter and Venus was gorgeous in the clear air.

It was snarled up on the other side of the road because of the tunnel. Heading into town it was snarled up for some other reason.

I rode in and thought "oo stars and a moon" new you'd know the proper words Mr Spaceman.

Super sketchy conditions today. A very icy 10km home. I really should learn to be more sensible and leave the bike at home in conditions such as today.

Already planning my ride in tomorrow and how many layers I might need.

hah, close enough.

Wore two pairs of gloves for the ride back home. Toasty hands, big contrast to this morning.

Snow day! Snow day! Snow day!.
Not even that snowy...

Well that was fun: out in the sticks cycling at 645 this morning on about 3 inches of fresh, untouched snow up to the train station on 25mm gatorskins! Surprisingly grippy to be honest! Not too cold either. Would have preferred a snow day but ironically the trains were running better that they have all month.
Sketchy as owt out there, v.brave riding!
I ran faster than the cars on the ungritted Parkway, pics from PF Park here: https://www.lfgss.com/comments/14597619/
