Do Campag front hubs have some fussy axle thread diameter/pitch
Yes, 9mm×26TPI. By the time you've got an axle and track nuts to suit, it won't look like much of a bargain. The easy way to make road hubs track legal is to tap the hollow axle M6 and use suitable bolts and washers. There's a thread for that.

Given that I have no intention of competing, and will only ever ride drop-in sessions,
The easy way to make road hubs track legal is to...
Be the person that can say an allen key skewer is fine to go on the track. ;)
I actually can't ride while I'm on shift so there would be someone else on duty who could tell me otherwise but you know what I mean.

an allen key skewer is fine to go on the track.
I use allen key skewers on both of my main track bikes. Never had a problem in London or Aigle. Not that anyone in Aigle is likely to give a crap as long as the wheel doesn't actually fall off.

I've got a Sunrace 8spd 11-40, it is bad ass for £15
Shifts like ass because of my horrorshow nightmare drivetrain though.

Woah^ 8 speed with a 40t! Nice.

an allen key skewer
That would work too. I happened to have an M6 tap and suitable screws and washers laying around, so my first bolt-on conversion didn't require any further purchases. Your parts bin may vary.

Why do most wireless mice(sp?) require a usb dongle, rather than working off bluetooth?
And can you usually sync ones requiring a dongle with bluetooth on a laptop?
Cheers.

How long do you have your heating on for at the moment?
I live in a 2 bed terrace and it's colllllllld. Heating is currently on for 2 hours in the morning and 3.5 hour in the evening. Is this more/less than others?
I only moved in on Saturday and it's the first house I have lived in on my own so don't know what's normal!
Thanks in advance... -

Most wireless mice are 2.4ghz and the dongle is just the mechanism that converts the signal to a usb signal (? Correct terminology is not my forte sorry!) There's no reason that a true bluetooth mouse wouldn't work with an built in bluetooth chip in a laptop - just double check the specifications.
-
• #95523
So if my laptop's bluetooth is 2.4ghz, and the wireless mouse is also 2.4ghz I should be able to pair without using a dongle?
-
• #95524
Is it a specifically a bluetooth mouse?

How do I feed instagram an image like the one below - vector-like, but with small pixely details as well (the underlying map) - without their algorhythm mushing everything to a pulp?
Banging my head against the wall here!
Tried all kinds of settings, sizes from 600px to 1080px width, JPG with quality from 6 to 10 (file size about 250-500kb), PNG (8-bit) with dither / without (roughly same file sizes)..
It looks ok-ish when you look at the 1080px versions on an iPhone (but far from great), viewed on desktop it's really just pulp. Thanks in advance for any help!

The argument for having spokes swept that way when driving forward is that the displacement tends to expand the rim, so it tends to stay flat rather than collapsing into a series of axially displaced waves. Look at brake discs and you'll see that any competently designed one is made this way. On a wheel which is going to be driven both ways from the hub (acceleration and braking), having the spokes swept only one way is going to be wrong for one of the directions of torque input. In the case in point, both wheels will tend to collapse under braking loads, a problem which can only be mitigated by making the rims very stiff. Since deep crabon rims tend to be very stiff anyway, it's not likely that the wrong spoke orientation will cause a problem other than making it obvious that the person who came up with concept is pretty clueless, and there's more than enough evidence of that even if you hide the wheels.
