What's the sizing like on these? Normally I go for pretty much the largest frames I can find, but XXL sounds pretty huge. Is this comparable to a 60cm road frame?

I mean it's an MTB so it's quite a different beast.
To give you an idea I ride a 61cm top tube road bike with a 140mm stem.
The trek was technically a bit too small for me really (I used to run it with lots of drop and a 100mm stem - which for MTB purposes is WAY long) but I made it work. Trek say it's for people 6"4 and up (I'm 6"7 but long in leg and arm)

Oh man, I wish I was just slightly taller. Tempted at 300. I'm 6ft2 or more like 6ft2 and a half.
Probably wouldn't be ideal...
It was my self that bought the arkose as frame from you a while ago. Fits fine but this is obviously different.
Can you let me check out geometry charts today and let you know by end of the day? -

flippin’ giants and your I’m massive chat!
I suspect you could make it work fine - just check the reach - you don’t want a chode on this kinda thing but 50mm + stem would probably be fine.

Yeah I mean 50-60mm would be better for an MTB for general trail use really. The 100mm was for XC/long distance stuff

Course. Drop me a PM

I reckon it would fit me ok, but I really don't need another project, sorry!
GLWS man, I feel your pain when it comes to trying to buy/sell frames at the larger end of the spectrum!
-

Yeah I think it could be just about ok? I bloody hope so because I've said I'll take it now...
Reach, I think, should be ok. With a 50mm stem I think(hope) it wont actually be too stretched out. Or at least Ive convinced my self by checking the reach of other mtb's Ive had and the reach number for the 23" seems close enough to what I have/previously had. But I might be interpreting the numbers wrong...
Stand over height should leave enough space to avoid any sore baws scenario. -

@Slappingpythagoras out of curiosity how tall are you?
-
• #14
About 6 foot 4-5ish, smallest frames I can comfortably ride are 58s, and my daily is a 60cm Cannondale CAAD. I reckon this would fit me, but it's definitely not going to be at the small end of the scale for me, and I quite like bikes to be as small as I can get away with for practical reasons!

Plenty of folks size up for MTB frames to get a longer reach.
Depends on the type of riding you are doing.
I wouldn't sweat standover too much.

Thanks folks, feel good about it now. Riding wise tbis will be used for the trails that are most local to me. Pretty tame, nothing technical, a bit pedally. Feels like a bit of a slog on my full suss bike. This built up rigid would be ideal

I'm not giant enough.

BB size and rear wheel width please...? Thanks!
I'm downsizing to one mountain bike as I don't have space to store so many bikes any more.
Top of the line (apart from Project one) Trek hardtail XC frame. Also a rare beast in this size (23"). Available as a frameset new still for over £1000, mine has been used as my main MTB for a year and a half or so. Some trail-centre riding, some bikepacking. It has a few marks, scuffs etc. Also one area of ware on the seatstay where it was held up by a bungee in the van for a long trip and it did a super nice job of taking off some paint (the underlying sealer on the carbon is still totally fine, non structural etc etc).
The frame includes seat collar, rear axle and Shimano PF92BB (installed) which has plenty of life left in it. As it sits it weighs 1800g including those parts, so can be built up into a real weight-weenie
Pictures to follow. Please see my other post for parts from this bike (Dynamo wheels, rigid boost forks etc)
I'd like £425. Currently in Bristol but can post
