And you may get some stick from your starter if your club has a designated skinsuit but you choose to ride something else..has happened to me

I've raced in non-club skinsuit for every race I've done since 2012. No one has said anything.

• #18654
I don't doubt it - you are a lot bigger than me..
-
• #18655
That might have something to do with it. Or maybe I just rock up late often enough they never have a chance to say anything.

Was BC that I was unsure of

Meanwhile I’m a member of two ctt affiliated clubs and didn’t do a single race with a club member from either last year!

Good point. I don't even know about BC TTs. I just assumed it was all under the control of CTT...

only national champs are bc: that’s not the national distance champs I.e. 10,25,50 etc only “the national champs”

BC you need club colours. Unless 4th cat.

Ideal. I hate other people.

Never seen anyone getting pulled at BC races when wearing Gabbas etc.
Comms are much more dickish about folding numbers etc.
‘But I need to be able to reach my pockets safely and these numbers are a metre squared’
‘Unfold it and repin it please’

I spent a year racing ctt events in a skinsuit from one club (uni) while being a member of a different club. It’s frowned upon but I believe the only rule that would prohibit it is whether the skinsuit carries advertising and the club hasn’t paid the advertising levy.
For ctt races just join lfgss.cc and race in whatever skinsuit you like. If it is obviously from a different club (rapha cc) then either put some tape over the branding or just claim it’s a generic rapha skinsuit. I doubt any starters are likely to say anything.

Starters are definitely not going to say anything, they have one job under Reg16, and that is to stop you if your clothes are not clean and tidy.

I think alex dowset has been allowed to race as a privateer as he has to race in Pro gear for the team etc, but think this is just in e region and is a special arrangement for him
It's not a special arrangement, any member of a UCI registered trade team can compete in CTT time trials without being a member of an affiliated club
7. Who may compete
Competitors in Type A events must be either:
(a) members of clubs directly affiliated to the Company* or of the Headquarters' Club; or
(b) schools' representatives when riding in Youth Championship events; or
(c) members of overseas clubs or trade teams affiliated through their National Governing Body or Federation to the Union Cycliste Internationale (U.C.I.) -

I think the 'special arrangement' was when he entered a ECCA event and people complained.

Does anyone have some 3T clip on pro/team pads and clamps they want to sell me? I don’t need the extensions, just the clamps and pads.
-
• #18670
Well I've worked out why I was invited to the CTT awards dinner.

Funnily enough, I do.
I have got a set, which includes the extensions, queued up to go on eBay next week.
I bought them last winter but I took them off after 2 or 3 rides as I didn't get on with the extensions. I bought them for £90, would be happy with £50. -

It does on the back!
AFAIK - In TT's you can race in team kit or generic kit, but the team kit has to be for the team/club you entered under. So no entering under LFGSS but wearing a Rapha CC skinsuit for example.
Generic kit can't have advertising, but the manufacturers name is fine (Castelli etc)
