Nobody uses light years to denote time
Yeah I thought that too.
Surely the example is using light years to denote progress. e.g. Japanese minidisc players are light years ahead of ours.
Isn't the Iraq e.g. also about progress - i.e. the author isn't actually talking about the moment in time but the political state of being.

Is this another examples of where 'misuse' of a word becomes the new meaning; for example Lights Years to denote time?
