Thanks - I was taught that digital images needs to be "developed" just like analogue. Most of my editing is just trying to draw attention the important parts of an image.
A quick test I use is squinting at the image, and if the important features aren't visible, it still needs work. That or looking at a thumbnail of the image works too.
Just needs a little bit of selective contrast and a crop imo. The raw material is good!
I think the problem is, that the flare and backlight makes her face wash out, so I tried to apply some local contrast to bring back focus on her face.
