I don't find that with my Revelate saddle bag. Maybe it's skinny people with heavy saddle bags that notice it more though? Dunno, but waggle never been an issue. Catching the wind on the 65mm wheels in the US was more of an issue.

The biggest bonus with Di2 is unclipping cables to pack the bike and not having to worry about the pissing indexing and avoiding hand fatigue as well as the TT shifting ability - especially if you're a TTer.

I was talking about IndyPac not TCR. I'm still down for another TCR.

Also, you sure you want -French- beer? :)
-
• #256
At the end of a long ride I'm not really fussy about the quality of the beer I get.
(Did you get given a beer at Brest on PBP?)
-
• #257
Never drunk beer during pbp.
have consumed lots of pelforth brune during other bike rides -

Oh right, you were replying to a message 5 pages up

I wouldn't normally (I never wanted Audax to become another reason to drink) but indulged myself a few times on PBP (freebie at Brest, one at Sizun and somewhere else with ~200km to go).

Where I live doesn't have any PBP qualifying events (unless I want to pay to organise my own). Can you do them anywhere?

Yes
-
• #262
Yeah I guess, but I'll always pick something different if I can find it. I don't recall beer at Brest but pretty sure i had some at the control after that.

Booked flights. What a fucking ball ache. Wizz Air suck a fat one. I know they're budget but it shouldn't feel like walking through a room full of booby traps to book a ticket.
-
• #266
This. Somehow the second time I went through it ended up slightly cheaper!?
What date did you go for? -
• #267
It went up £20 during the process so the last ticket in band x must've been sold while we fucked around.
23rd.

I've just booked for the 24th. It was a bit painful.
Annoyingly I had booked a hotel earlier but only did it from the 25th, and it is now full on the 24th so can't extend, so need to book another one.

Yeah, Carhaix
You were lucky, there wasn't even any food left when I got there.
[84 hour start = late] -
• #270
Sorry about that. I think I had about 3 dinners waiting for the bloody Irishman to appear.

Not looked at accom yet.
Still need to book RATN, TransP and TransIb and a flight to Oz. Lucky I have many years commuting or I'd feel a bit more guilty about this year's carbon footprint. :S

I'd be open to a shared Airbnb if others are?
-
• #273
Probably a bit late but if you're booking via Wizz Air look out for the FX "charges". Last time I booked with them the sterling price was £20 more than paying in HUF (it didn't mention this anywhere).

Yes, my hotel is cancellable so could be up for that

Ah, I could probably have paid with HUF via Transferwise and saved most of that...
Unless you also have the dynamo :)
