A good present would be a potter's apron (split leg apron).
Edit: there are loads of books around pottery of course - a compendium of pots can be a great inspiration (e.g Edmund de Waal's The Pot Book, etc)

My gf collects pieces from a maker called Debbie Barber (Insta handle debbinapril or similar).

Half-term short course of 1 or 2 days ?
Lots of schools around do that (Brockley/Lewisham, Richmond, Putney, Morley College, or try The Kiln Room in Peckham etc.).

This is quite a good book of practical information if she's into collecting. Something from the Leach pottery is a good call (the dvd is nice https://www.ebay.co.uk/p/The-Leach-Pottery-1952-2nd-Edition-Remastered-dvd-hg077-05/14004364719?iid=132918095021&chn=ps) - but I prefer Richard Batterham https://sladersyard.wordpress.com/richard-batterham/ .
My Mum has a collection of about 5000 pieces she's looking to slim down but I guess that'd be a bit much :)

Anyone on here do pottery? Looking for present recommendations for my girlfriend (books, tools, whatever) who has been doing it for six months or so (so not absolute beginner but still quite beginner). Cheers
