  • You could just fit a disc fork and leave the frame alone (with caliper braking on the rear)?

  • That's something I hadn't considered, cheers! It would result in an aesthetically challenging franken-groupset, but easily swapped in and out. Hmmmm.

  • Just add a cable actuated disc e.g. TRP Spyre. Can't see why you'd need anything more in terms of messing around with the groupset. Most of the braking work is done by the front brake anyway.

  • Three years ago Winston quoted me £60 for a disc tab brazed on the top of the seat stay, £20 for a brace betwixt seatstay and chainstay, £20 to remove canti mounts. A respray after that would have been c.£120.

Also had a quote from Caren Hartley of around £100 for the disc tab (so exactly the same without the paint) but neither of them had seen the frame in person so these were estimates to give me an idea.

I didn't go for it in the end but I'm still tempted (with a different frame now!) - maybe one day. Anyway a guide idea of pricing for you.
