Always good to know strategic places to stop for food, drink & sightseeing, thanks for this and the heads up of not looping around afterwards. Getting very excited already about the prospect of summer touring, with these nuggets means there's more chance we'll have a great time again and be allowed future touring holidays ;)
Didn't even know we have a railways thread! Used to work at a certain british train set company and think I've had my lifetime fix of loco-action. Saying that secretly pumped for the Caledonian Sleeper.
If you fancy properly breaking a seafood rule, detour to here .
Incredible food, a great road with incredible views to and from it, just don’t carry on to Kinlochleven or loop around the road on the other side of the Loch.
I have always planned to ride to the cafe in summer, eat untill I can’t move and camp within waddling distance on the foreshore.
Also, before you get to Ballachulish, make sure you take the time to go to Cuil Bay, it’s stunning. Kendallen station a good stopping point as well - The Holly Tree.
If you are really sad like me, you will find this book really interesting about the railway line that a lot of the cycle route now runs along
I’ll take myself back to the Railways thread now though.....
