Was it though? The barrels of the 10 speed stuff was all the same from rival onwards. It was the casing and paddles where the weight saving happens.

Isn’t that what I was saying? Rival and up was better than Apex

Right you are.... I blame Brexit or something....

Someone needs to clarify this. I suspect that all SRAM 11 speed hydro are done equally, but with more corners cut every step down.
That said it works pretty good, I was thinking in transplanting Ultegra 2x hydro, now I may just put some Force cranks -

Just went trough the HRD apex 1 -> HRD Force 1 upgrade, and my friend is running HRD Rival 1
-There is rather significant step up from apex to rival in terms of the rear mech. Then the force mech is marginally faster / lighter on its own. However using a XD driver with the full pin cassette after the standard shimano/sram sprocket is yet another jump.
Serious gram saving can be achieved here, the low end 1130 11-42T cassette is 540g while the top 1199 is only 270. Also the XD driver is lighter.-Brakes are technically the same, levers itself are alu -> alu+reach adj. -> carbon+rach adj. Calipers are different a bit, saving a few grams only. Didn't notice any difference in braking power.
-On the Apex the crank spider is integrated and alu. Rival is still alu but with swap-able spider, force is carbon (and the same as the Force 22, only the livery is different)

Unfortunately not. It was a pedal-less medium and had a full set of Alpkit bikepacking luggage on it, think it was intended for show.
It felt ridiculously light compared to my TdF 20, which is also 725 steel. Extra weight on an XL compared to a medium maybe?

there's a SMALL DELAY with frame production, now expected March MAYBE APRIL...
I'm not surprised actually, given that they announced and released it in December, with a January delivery date, I would have been impressive if they managed that within the time frames.
Least it's not Cannondale.

I'm in the same boat. Did you change the Arkose front TA to an allen key variant? I'm not sure what alternatives there are...

No I haven’t yet...DT RWS seem pricey, was thinking of trying one of these

A friend's order has just got an update on his SRAM 725 CGR - an order he placed in early December - telling him that there's a delay on SRAM parts, pushing the ETA back to March. That's pretty shocking!

Meh. I ordered a Lynskey frameset, which they claimed to have in stock, on 1st September last year. It wasn't until well into January this year that I finally got both frame and forks delivered to the correct country and which were usable.

Not really. There's a massive shortage on bike parts at the moment. Having issues getting Shimano parts as it is. ETA for 8020 STI's is April according to Madison.

That's terrible.
One of the main reasons I ordered with Ribble was that delays or long lead time were never mentioned prior to me placing that order.I can't complain totally as a bike was delivered today.
That's after I complained about the rather poor experience so far and the £25 delivery charge being refunded.
Which was followed by an email informing me of despatch notification to follow including Parcelforce tracking number.
That's after not receiving said email AND a PF driver nearly smashing his way in rather unexpectedly. Luckily my gf was WFH today.Ribble CS when chased confirmed the delivery of a CGR AL !!??
Then later explained (verbatim): "our system is currently unable to send automated despatch notification for bike orders due to the complicated way we set up bike orders on our system".I'd strongly advise anyone with a bike order not to wait for that elusive tracking number but contact CS.
Next update:
What bike did they send me in the end??... -

The think about lysnkey is you will never need to order again unless you get another .

So finally picked up my Triban 520, and have just put some 700 x 38 Schwalbe G-One Micro skin Tubeless on it... Any thoughts on mudguards that might fit?

I'm trying to remain calm and understanding as I now have the bike. However it got a bit stressful. I get it that those bikes will be in very high demand as they tick a lot of boxes thanks to their versatility. Ribble probably isn't that cash rich and is having to juggle production around.
The CGR 725 arrived safe and sound yesterday. They upgraded the whole brake line to Rival, including the shifter. Only the rear mech is Apex.

Pics?
It’s not the groupset weight that I mean. There’s barely room for improvement on shifters and mechs. The frame will be significant, I’ve no experience with apex 11 speed but on 10 speed, apex to rival/force/red was a mega jump in terms of shifting. I’ve only had Rival 22 and Red 22 which are both as good functionally.
