What do you mean by them not polishing - not going shiny? Also are you using cream or polish?
I'd wash/clean with saddle soap. Leave to dry naturally and condition with whatever you usually use (I use Saphir Renovator cream)
I’ve tried both polish and cream. The leather does not seem to ‘take’ the polish as normal shoes would. I’ll get some saddle soap and try that. I take it that the Black polish would be a bad move? Thanks.

Still a bit confused. If they're clean and not cracking does it matter?
Or are you trying to make them darker?
