Hey, could I take the V-brakes please? I'm also in Manchester so could meet you to collect.
Cheers.

That would be great! Whereabouts in Manc are you? I am in New Mills this week until Thursday, when I am catching a train off to Wales, changing in Stockport. So I'll be in Stockport for 19 minutes from 12:20 on Thursday! Then not back till next week. I have some ebay things to post on Thursday morning so if oyu need them more quickly I could post then.

I'll PM you now...

Hey, I'm working all day Thursday so unfortunately can't get to Stockport, sorry.
I live in Chorlton, south Manchester. Are you often in the city centre or not? If not it might be easier to post? I occasionally head to Glossop for walking/cycling but no plans imminent.

Thanks so much, btw. Building a bike for my girlfriend for her birthday and the v-brakes I was gonna use are pretty nasty

What is the story with those levers? Would love those for my local community refurb projects.

I head into Manc now and then for social trips or shopping but not regularly for work. I'll happily post on Thurs if you want to cover the cost? It should be 2.95 as a 2nd class small parcel. Otherwise I can keep you posted for when I am next in Manc or use it as an excuse for a ride down the TPT.

Can I have the saddle please?

@Bigfield Splendid, yes, thanks! I am wrapping up parcels tonight, after doing a bit of ebaying. If you can paypal me 2.95 for a 2nd class small parcel, I can get it in the post tomorrow morning? my paypal is shop@freytag.org.uk
@ginllfixit would you like the brakes posted as well?
@Hispanicmechanic thanks for the interest, I guess gin has first dibs for now, but I will keep the thread updated so you know where we get to - not least I think there's a fair bit more freecycle stuff coming out of ongoing sorting.

Ha, just realised those messages above weren't in PM format like intended!
Might as well bung them in the post, thanks. I'll PM you my address, hopefully.

Next up, an old road bike complete except for its drop handlebars. It is 60cm Rotary. Age unknown, but old enough to have sat around and gone fairly rusty. I got it free as a possible singlespeed conversion project linked to a possible move to a flatter place than New Mills, but that did not happen so the bike is no longer needed. I got the stem out with a just a bit of effort so hopefully the saddle and other rusty bits will follow likewise. These pics show most of it and I have the brakes & stem in a box - everything but the handlebars.

Brake gone, just the fake saddle left.
A household round of bike reorganising and consolidating is yielding a few things for ebay and a few things that are not quite for ebay but hopefully can be freecycled to a good home to save them going to the bin.
A set of Promax v-brakes, from a bike bought in ~2000Tektro Draco front hydraulic disk brake. The pad retaining bolt seized and then I rounded it out trying to remove it. The same thing happened for the rear brake and I ran out of skills to remove the bolt and ended up destroying the caliper, so I did not try again for the front. Brake was entirely functional until the pads wore out and needed replacing and I ran into this problem.2 sets of Shimano MTB cleats, both unused60cm road bike Rotary (Peugeot)Pics for 1-4 - https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1Az5eKiPxv3uu5Wfn3bVsJXFKaiKdtYQo?usp=sharing

I am happy to post any of these at cost, which might be 2.95 for Royal Mail small parcels, though I will try to send things more cheaply if possible Or potentially meet for collection in Manchester, or collect from New Mills in Derbyshire.
Possibly a few more things coming up if/when ebay fails to sell things, and also ongoing sorting continues.
