Clumping turns to clay when wet and it's a pain in the arse to clear out of the tray and sticks to the scoop.
Just teach your cat to use the toilet and never have to deal with the litter box again.

I used clumping, must prefer it to the wood pellets. They key is to make sure enough is in the litter tray so it doesn't end up sticking to it. It's then easy to scoop out and leave the good litter behind. I used the ultra stuff from sainsburies own brand. Worked well.
My cats shit outside now.

Came home to a bunch of feathers yesterday evening. We were unable to find the body. Can cat's eat the whole bird, or should I be expecting some funky smells soon.

This doesn't happen if you use a good litter, enough of it in the box and scoop regularly.
@lynx The clumps allow you to scoop out most of the piss, leaving clean(ish) litter behind meaning you get to keep the tray a bit cleaner using a bit less litter. Obvs no substitute for regular emptying though.
Our cat is super picky, if there is more than one or two pisses in his box he won't use it (and will use the carpet) so its important that we can separate as much piss out of the litter as possible, given that it isn't practical to change the entire box once each day. You can only do this with clumping.

Our cat has never been on the carpet (although a few nugs have fallen off his bum in odd places) but his favourite place to whiz is on these Ikea bath mats, we had two and after about 20 washes they still smell like cat whiz.

Ask and you shall receive.
Fleur had a tooth out on Monday so spent Tuesday still high as a kite which was super cute. She ate some hair earlier last week and ended up running round with poop/hair clump hanging from her arse. Much less cute..

So had a long chat with my frame builder and my Patch theme bike should be ready in a few weeks time. There is a slight problem with 1 part of the graphics meaning now there is 1 side of the chainstay looking a bit empty.
I am thinking of drawing a long Patch on it with the name of the bike written on the body. Can you give me some suggestions? The name ideally should include Patch or Patchie, as after all, it is a bike with her mug all over!

Tooth out, I feel you! The cuteness post op is just overloaded!
Patch had a tooth out few months back. Did you ask to keep the tooth?
They gave me it without cleaning it first and it smells like shit.

Gross, didn’t consider keeping the tooth. As it had to go I’m guessing it was pretty manky.
She’s being a croissant right now.

Patch’s tooth was in a pretty good state, it was her weird gum problem that means it would absorb the tooth eventually and painfully... so... but yeah it smelt pretty bad.
Anyway, is your croissant good enough to eat? 😼
My Swiss roll is good enough to eat! Yum yum!

Pixie just had 3 more teeth removed, now only 4 remaining (all in a row at the bottom/front).
Here she is at the vet trying to hide under her towel. Snarl is due to a rotten canine that became loose, poor Pix.

What is the difference over clumping and non clumping? Kittens shouldn't have clumping incase they decide to each the litter.
I just use the wood chip heating pellets http://www.petsathome.com/shop/en/pets/pets-at-home-wood-pellet-non-clumping-cat-litter-30l but from B&M as the pellets powder up less and are cheaper.
