• I’m in the process of buying an old Concorde frame. I’d like to put a modern groupset on it (mainly so it has handlebar shifters). I’d like to spend 100-150. Would Shimano Tiagra be a good bet?

  • Check the spacing first; you may struggle to get the back wheel in, but if so a decent bike shop should be able to widen it.

    You’ll have that issue fitting any current groupset - i.e tiagra is no more or less suitable. Tiagra is great value for money though so no reasons not to use it.

    Keep in mind Concordes have Italian threaded bottom brackets (as far as I’ve seen) so ensure you get the right bottom bracket with your groupset
