get a shorter version of 650b and worry mainly about tyre width at its widest, side spray and 10mm clearance, stays can be cut
@Klar do you want to add anything?

I'd wait for 65ob black Zeppelins to come back into stock. It didn't take too long for them to be re-stocked last time. They look awesome and as long as the frame can take 52mm guards they should work well.

Cheers, It's one of the 51cm Isen frames so will check with @coldharbour on which guards fit the smaller frames

I can report on good mounting of a dynamo light on a set of the PDW guards (black)
-
• #4006
Not sure how they'll fit with a 26" wheel though :/
-
• #4007
Ah,
Yeah not sure. I saw the linked SKS edge was 28" so assumed 700c. PDW do a gravel guard in 650b, that might work?
-
• #4008
Yeah I splurged on the PDW Beast for my Surly, don't think it'll fit the small Isen's unfortunately. I'll wait for Matt's guidance, if only the forks had drilling for a dynamo I could just get any old guards.

VO guards are great. On my commuter they've lasted 6 years so far.
The 45mm PDWs required some massaging to fit inbetween the seatstays on my 55cm ISEN frame...
Is the plan to run 26" with big tyres?
-
• #4011
They're a new product. SKS makes good products in my experience so I doubt they'll be shit
-
• #4012
I'd get the 50 mm 26" GBs and spray them black
-
• #4014
Bluemels and a bar mounted light are the fallback option
-
• #4015
Longboards or Bluemels.
Anyone had direct comparison.

Ok so I looked back 6 pages and still can't find information on which is the best material for flaps?
Is there a template?

Whatever piece of rubber/plastic/leather/wood/concrete you have laying around. Draw a triangle with a flattened top on it, put two holes (or whatever) in and attach.
-
• #4018
Fwiw you should be looking at what conti calls the 27" version of those tyres
-
• #4019
nah SKS makes shit products too, I have had one of their single stay guards for about £20 .. it was utter shite
I'd only stick with their proven stuff but not for mudguard light mounting.
@Saffronspokes how about a rando rack and light mounted on that?
-
• #4020
I'd be surprised if you couldn't stick a light on top of the bluemels
-
• #4021
I don't think the fork on the small Isens can take a rando rack, what mounts do they need?
Isen supply mudguard adapters for the small fork as it doesn't come drilled for guards either.

I've got the tyres thanks. Picked them up from Bikester in the New Year. They look lovely seem much truer to size than the GP 4000s
-
• #4023
Pretty encouraging that conti have gone ahead and made them in road-size 650b. Maybe more progressive small bike geo to come

In a fit of misery this morning i ordered https://www.bike-discount.de/en/buy/sks-germany-bluemels-75-u-mudguard-set-782388
for my Brother Big Bro without looking at the coverage picture. Looks extremely scant. -

get a spork ;)
The next struggle is to work out the best fit for a 42 x 26" tyre that's in black as they only do 26" guards in silver and the 650b black ones are out of stock
