• But not in Spain where they also get a lot of people. The government there is different, they don't see economical/social problems as inherently linked with immigrants.

So, the "issue" is again, depending on where you are and who you ask. Poorer areas always get more refugees because the government wants to house cheaply and they don't get much cash at all. But that also happens in all EU countries.

With the UK getting a whole, wait for it, whole 30 thousand Syrian refugees and the Netherlands [pop 19million] got 60 thousand Syrian refugees alone, the UKian complaining about this, well, it seems to be me that it was conveniently made a "we must leave the EU issue" for the leave campaign.

The Netherlands has shit stirrers attacking people in meetings on where to house refugees temporarily, had to use old school building etc. But it is THE issue here? Really?

And leaving the EU won't work anyway, whomever is closests gets the most refugees. That's why it is so grating to me that the UK is making a big fuss where most people have already passed through and stayed in another EU country. They pretty much had to make the UK take a few in, and they are STILL complaining.

[not that the EU can't do more to help Greece, and actually some Dutch people drove down to ask if they could bring refugees up. But the Greek government couldn't make this work. But again, the UK doesn't really have grounds to complain I think]

  • Can only comment on Italy and Greece, from what I have seen for years, but not recently..if that makes sense.

Then this is played on by the media and the local council..
