So this is a really stupid thing to suggest, but it kind of looks like there's a very thin kind of tape over the top half of the logo?
The way the gray dust etc. gathers on the outside of the black area looks like that to me - does it feel 100% flat there?

I wouldn't ride bars that had some unexplained weirdness to the finish.
Are they crabon? Is it a repair?

Ere! What's appened to these here bars?They're absolutely sound structurally and can't even feel where part of the logo etc has worn - if it is wear (???)
