Thanks for these tips, given i couldn't really see much wrong from psychical inspection of the locking mechanism and I don't really know anything about anything I will give this a try before the inevitable spinning disc treatment that I feel is imminent.

Amazed that when I freed my bike, after informing the police what I was doing, car turned up and I got cuffed.

I got the fire service to cut a lock off once that was some years ago and in Nottingham. But might be worth asking nicely! Good luck

I blame that wanker who turned your fork's compression and rebound damping to zero.

I've also had a Krypto D-lock seize up on me - Soaking it in WD-40 and giving it a whack with a hammer released it.

I'd suggest giving your other 5 locks some WD-TLC before the same thing happens to them!
