  • First one with the piano is amazing! That shot at box speed?

  • Well they’re all shot on an Olympus Trip 35, which only accommodates 1/40 or 1/200 shutter speeds so anything less than a decent amount of light will come out underexposed, especially on FP4. I shot with the lens wide open at f2.8 and hoped for the best, glad they came out well. Couldn’t tell you how much the film was pushed because I honestly don’t know haha

  • Had a job in Belfast, had an hour to stroll around Wed afternoon and sunrise this AM

  • Got some photos back from a yashica t4 I have just sold due to a murky viewfinder and getting a big offer, both shot on fuji superia 400. And basically I think I might massively regret it as the colours were just so nice on it, just wondering what's similar results wise, for a point and shoot (I think) , Would a konica big mini get close? As its a lot cheaper

    A T3.

Would a konica big mini get close

    No.

  • Shit! Anything cheaper?

  • Night pints.

  • Try an Oly AF-10 mini. There are a few shapes (later versions are nicer/smaller). It’s got a sharp f4.5 lens that is really simple (so compares to a Tessar). You can get a good one for £40.

  • Shit! Anything cheaper?

Well I guess it depends on how you define "similar, results wise".
There's still some capable and affordable compact 35mm cameras around, but they're all getting more expensive as they become extinct.
And the really good ones like that hipster apparatus you just sold are very much sought after and thus very expensive, simple as that.

  • If you can live with it's limitations I think the Trip 35 is still great, and also cheap as there were so many of them built

  • If you can live with the limitations a matchbox pinhole is great!

    Seriously though they're great fun!

  • One from a test roll through the Aires rangefinder, before I got it serviced. Shutter kept sticking so mostly all blurry apart from this one. Surprised how sharp the lens is, looking forward to getting it back and shooting with it

  • Contax T3, yes a cheap alternative. Ha

  • Fuck.
I’ll be honest, of all the point and shoots that I’ve used, the t4 is by far my favourite and it simply makes great looking images. I got mine for £35 a few years ago (and felt robbed at the time), and I’m really not looking forward to when it dies as it’ll be too expensive to replace.

  • The images are incredible...its a real shame how much its gone up in recent years....35 quid is a bargain mate!

I still think I made the right decision (ish) as I wasn't using it due to the viewfinder and the want to use something new, and i got over 200 for it which part funded the Fuji GA45Zi.

After a lot of too me too you-ing on the weekend I decided to get an Olympus mju iii for 60 big ones....hope its alright and will make fruity pics

  • Do they make a mju iii with a fixed focal length?
