Got to love a bit of internet diagnosis.
The garage had a look at the brake pads, I'd hope.
Trying to work out what the abs system is, sometimes you can get issues with tyres that are different tread depths hence rolling radius's or collection of debris between the sensor and the ring.
Vauxhall abs issues..
Could be many things.
Dicky sensor.
Dry pads, as in no copper slip on backing plate causing noise.
Uneven pad wear (assume garage actually looked at all four calipers) could be a worn pad touching edge of worn disc.
Have a look on the inside of the wheels, any fine silver metal particles ? would indicate a brake pad back plate is wearing down a disc, could mean a sticking caliper.
Thats just a quick generic checklist and not just for VXR's.
