The idea of the West is strong in Calgary, and part of Alberta's identity. But here are some pictures of Calgary in the 60s. I don't see all that many horses.

Maybe he was at the Stampede.

Yeah I lived there in the seventies and remember the board sidewalks on 7th Avenue near Center Street.
There is hardly a trace of that downtown left now.
Most open area around Calgary has been built up, right from Chestermere halfway to Canmore.^great pictures, thanks for posting those!

Maybe he was at the Stampede.
Nah, he never went to Stampede. He worked in Banff in the summer.
For what its worth, I'm not saying that a significant number of people in Calgary rode horses in the 60s. Just that it was a thing.

He documented the stunt in a thread on twitter. It didn't stop posters berating him.
Read the whole thread so you know what's going on? Hell nobody got time for that! -

who the fuck is he and should I care ?
-

He calls left wing people libtards so… who cares who he is?
Oh, and also he dresses up like a Nazi. Hah, he has really owned the left there! Wow! Totally proved them wrong by dressing up like an evil organisation!

Isn't he wearing the armband on the wrong arm? At least do your Nazism research before fascism fancy dress day.

Am I reading this right - the person making the bribe keeps some money and is accused of being untrustworthy?
Is this madness?Rudy Giuliani, a personal lawyer for Trump, said in a statement to the Journal that Cohen is “untrustworthy” because he was reimbursed more money than he paid RedFinch.
“If one thing has been established, it’s that Michael Cohen is completely untrustworthy,” Giuliani said.

Let's forget the treasonous offence, this Cohen guy is very, very bad...
-
• #7343
True but it reads that bribery is fine and he has breached ‘the bribery code’. I’m rather surprised but really, anything relating to Trump should not be a surprise now.
-
• #7344
I'm not surprised, I'm sure there's much worse to be uncovered but will he wriggle his way out of it?
Getting the lawyer/consigliere is normally case closed, no?

This is quite good (on the tone deaf comments from Wilbur Ross)

Impeaching Trump means have Pence for president.
Believe it or not that might actually be worse.
Pence is an utterly evil religious freak and homophobe. -

I’m not seeing much difference. 😁

^ this - as in actually one, not just playing to the crowd
You joke, but my Dad remembers Calgary when people would have horses tied up outside bars and work in ranching. That was only in the 60s...
