Yeah good idea. I've been combating this by trying to get the wood into the house first so it gets to room temperature and then take it out again for the glue up, then straight back in until it dries. Wife's hates me for it though.

That's what people on the internet seem to recommend as well. Now I now why these Canadian YouTube woodworkers bang on about heating their workshops.

That and it's also nice not to get frozen to any metal that you touch!

Anyone got something like this I could borrow for a weekend? Need to replace a security light but my steps won't reach.

Needs to fit in a fiat panda.

Doing a rewire now, channels had to be dug in the walls and fine plaster dust is everywhere:

The channeling cutters with dust extraction are brilliant. Still need to have mask and eye protection.

NOW TAKEN
I have a high spec set of kitchen units which need to be removed this weekend from my studio in shoreditch. Everything included in pics except microwave and fridge, ie. sink, work surfaces, built in oven and hob, carcasses and fronts including drawer units. Everything is in excellent condition. Please only get in touch if you can dismantle and collect this weekend.PM me

i have a 3 section 5m roofer's ladder you can borrow. It won't fit in a panda though. I also have a 2.8m telescopic ladder which I can't find at the moment but I would never trust a 5m telescopic ladder - way too much flex. You'll fall off.

Thanks for the offer but I actually rented a 3m telescopic from the Crystal Palace Library of Things for £5.
Job done.

The Crystal Palace Library of Things concept is new to me and it makes me very happy. People are great!

Costs a quid to sign up then just reserve stuff online. It's all self service when you get there too. Login to an iPad, and it connects to smart "locks" to release the item.

The vacuum container is like a cut-away of an ants' nest, layers of dust arranged by colour.

25 mm oak dowel, or similar for a curtain pole. Can I get it longer than 2.4 m? Today. Where?
-
• #16568
You'll struggle to get it longer than 2.4m. Can't you join them?
-
• #16569
Yeah, I don't want to!

I think noThe lintel is hard to drill in to eh?

Hole in the ends of two shorter pieces

• #16573
You've still got my 5kg SDS+. If that's not going into the lintel then you've hit steel

Or the bits fucked?
-
• #16575
Yep. Has that.
Not letting glue (or paint, or lube or whatever shop liquids that we keep) freeze is basic good sense.
