  • My brother in law has just been deported from the USA for arriving with a lapsed ESTA (apparently, hard to get details). The Spanish embassy in the US gave us a departure time and an airline and said he's already on his way back but... the only corresponding flight is to a country that isn't Spain, even though he's a Spanish citizen and arrived from Spain. Is that even possible?

  • Yes, probably.

    Many years ago, a friend of mine was deported from the USA for not having the right visa. He's German and was put on the first flight back to Europe. I think from memory he landed in Amsterdam. Which was a considerable distance from Munich where he originally took off from.
