That question makes me think do you drive/cycle in London? Every time I drive or cycle I am amazed at peoples road going stupidity.

So the 500 twin air went in under warranty coughing and spluttering yesterday.
Took them all day to work out that an oil temp sensor was faulty.
I was intrigued as to how that would affect the idle from cold start but apparently because the valves are hydraulic the ecu will compensate if the oil gets too hot. (or false reading of)
Anyone have any knowledge of this?

Just used the ULEZ checker and my 52 plate petrol Astra is compliant. Genuinely surprised!
Definitely need a new car but the Astra just won't die and now it's not affected by ULEZ I reckon I can get a few more years out of the old banger.
EDIT: Shit @IR that's crazy, I have a picture of the driver of the giant car in my head.. Hope you're not too banged up.

Ouch!
Could be resurrected with a spaceframe and flip front?
And a VW flat four in the back...

I feel like that’s logical - if the valves are hydraulically actuated the ECU must have to use oil temp to adjust oil pressure to take into account whether the oil is high or low viscosity and how much pressure is needed to open / close valves properly

ah man, that makes me feel sad.
must have been quite a smash when you look at the damage to the lexus.
fuck it though main thing you are alright. particularly as smash was into drivers side

Alfa flat 4?
-
• #46186
Wouldn't they have just plugged into diagnostics and gone
"hmm. Oil temp looks high, but the engines cold, lets swap the sensor"
Took all day? -

If you're interested, i found a half decent video about "multi air" valve trains earlier, which is effectively the same technology but for a 4cyl engine

Try Adrian Flux, ring rather than internet, we're paying less than a third of that for a 3.0 (but are old and live in a Sussex village....).

My Dad is bald.

Aye I'm 26, live in London where the car would be on the street and have 0 NCB having not owned my own car in the last 4 years.

Shit I forgot to reply to you. Your 5 looks super clean, I didn’t realise how much work you’d done on it. A bit out of budget though I’m afraid (if you even sell it)
Sub 3k toy is the idea but it might wait until next summer, have a house move and some potential job changes coming up this year -

What's wrong,
Young damselfly, my son,
Male-pattern baldness approaching?
Go back to your pond.

Mange has set in. It is true. 😎

Just checked and the 51 plate scooby is also compliant.
I'm genuinely surprised I was able to walk away on without serious injury, the ignition key contacted, my leg during the crash and bent near 90 degrees.
On a sadder note it's looking like this is going to be an insurance nightmare considering the car is still covered only under polish 3rd party OC insurance so despite the accident not being my fault in the slightest I'll probably end up being seriously fucked over.

Fuck. Here's hoping it works out somehow..
Poor thing, the missing lights look like it's had it's teeth knocked out. Glad you're OK!
